Expert Eyes
Consumer Eyes has ongoing relationships with experts across a diverse range of fields. Usually when we sit down with them it's for a specific project and with a specific research goal in mind, but we thought it might be valuable to conduct brief video interviews with some of the most exciting, speaking about their particular passion, so we can share their insight and expertise with the broadest audience possible!
Take a moment to explore any of the featured experts in the archive (whether or not they're in your category... sometimes an outside viewpoint is the one to spark a truly breakthrough idea!). Enjoy!
Tom Mylan
It's easy for a man who butchers a steer and 3 - 4 pigs per week to say that "food isn't that hard". But Mylan's assurance that 500 years ago every "jerk" could cure a ham does makes it seem less intimidating. With his decidedly democratic Unfancy Food Show, launched in 2007, he gives small-batch artisans an opportunity to sell everything from local pickles to handmade professional knives. By the second year, the number of producers doubled and the audience tripled.
